Dungeons & Dragons Experience web banners

This client came to me with the simple request to prepare a simple web banner for advertising his student-produced documentary. Right away, I found that the black old-face type used required much modification in order to reproduce at an acceptable level of quality. This was achieved by importing the typographic image into Adobe Illustrator and producing a traced version of the type, and then painstakingly removing unneeded anchor points.

The sans serif font was selected to pay homage to the original typographic design of the game’s rules books produced in the mid- to late-1970’s.

As a favor to the client, I produced both the static and animated versions of the banner.
